About the Course
Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens teaches students how to protect themselves and others from exposure to blood and blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA bloodborne pathogens training requirements when paired with site-specific instruction.
What does this course teach?
This course uses the PACT framework—Protect, Act, Clean, Tell—to help students learn and remember the key steps of bloodborne pathogens training.
Students will learn how to:
Protect themselves from blood and blood-containing materials
Act quickly and safely
Clean areas with blood or blood-containing materials
Tell a supervisor about the incident
The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff and tattoo artists. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Upon completion of the online course, students receive a course completion certificate that can be presented to employers.
