Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens

Who should take this course:

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course is tailored for employees who are likely to encounter bloodborne pathogens. This course fulfills OSHA's bloodborne pathogens training requirements when combined with site-specific guidance.

What does this course cover?

• This course employs the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and the slogan, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act™,” to assist students in learning and easily recalling bloodborne pathogens training.

  Students are taught to:

  • Protect themselves from contact with blood or materials containing blood.

  • Act swiftly and safely.

  • Clean areas contaminated with blood or blood-containing materials.

  • Inform their supervisor about the incident.
